I'm Jeff, I'm an aspiring cyclist, fishing enthusiast, and closeted NASCAR fan who just started practicing Yoga. I love sports of all kinds, and it's my intention to blog about all of those things. By the end of this summer I hope to have conquered at least one categorized climb on my bike. Wish me luck....Oh and I like crusty, doomy, heavy ass tunes.

Cycled up Mt. Greylock in north western Massachusetts with my Pops yesterday.  Was a huge goal for me.

25 mile trek with my pops today. Went well. Viva the Soviet Union! I’m a ridiculous dork. It’s the only jersey I have and at one point in time I thought it was cool. Maybe it still is, who knows.

Real intense yoga class today. 5 sun A’s right into 5 sun B’s and near nonstop vinyasas for an hour and a half. Brutal, yet amazing. During shavasana all I could think about was how awesome the giant glass of orange juice I would get to have when I got home would be….and it was.

Question for the yoga community

For those of you able to get into wheel pose, how long did you have to work at it before you got fully into the pose? I’ve been working at it for 2 weeks now and progress is slow. I can get my head off the ground, but I can’t get my arms fully extended and I can only hold it for a few seconds, maybe 5.

etremaigre:

just downloaded an app called “simply yoga” since apparently i’ll never be able to get to the two-times-a-week class at the y. i probably won’t get to use it until tomorrow though, so i’d love to hear if anyone has used it before and has a review of it or some tips for using it or anything like that!

It’s ok, but it’s very monotone, kind of like you’re taking a yoga class from an automated teller. So if you’re going through three rounds of sun salutations, she says the same exact thing at every single step if the process. I found it a bit frustrating.

Today’s yoga practice.

Today in Yoga class I managed to hold Crow pose (Bakasana) twice for about 4 seconds each time. It was the first time I’ve gotten fully into the pose. It felt amazing
